We have just installed a new sand volleyball court near the beach in the shade of our giant maple trees.
Nestled on the banks of crystal clear Boshkung Lake , adjacent to Buttermilk Falls our Haliburton cottage resort is enjoyed by couples and families alike.
Situated on a quiet bay our sandy beach is safe and clean with the rental cottages looking south with a big lake view.
For lovers of the outdoors Haliburton Highlands is a dream come true. Haliburton offers a multitude of year round activities and is also renowned for its artists community, from potters to weavers to painters.
Our rental cottages offer an affordable Ontario getaway in a tranquil picturesque setting. We have housekeeping cottages suitable for groups of eight plus cabins that suit couples for romantic getaway vacations.
Convenient from Toronto - only a short two hour drive transports you from the hustle bustle of the city to a place where you can just gaze at the lake, hang out on the beach, relax in the hot tub or take part in a number of on site activities.
The fishing where Buttermilk Falls tumbles into the lake beside our resort is unbeatable - small mouth and large mouth bass, lake trout, white fish and pan fish. In the winter we also provide ice fishing packages with fully equipped ice huts.
We offer guests (free of charge) a variety of boats including row boats, canoes, kayak, paddle boat and we can also arrange power boat rentals.
By the lake there is a wood fired hot tub ( there are two other hot tubs also on site) Moored just off the beach there is a swim platform with slide and a water trampoline for hours of fun and enjoyment.
Shaded from the afternoon sun we have a children's playground with slide & swings.
The shuffle board court, horse shoe pits and volley ball are popular for the older children and adults.
Buttermilk Falls is located conveniently central to Minden, Haliburton and Dorset for a variety of shopping - grocery and liquor and beer stores as well as boutiques and galleries.
The observation Tower in Dorset is popular family outing then on into town to visit Robinson's General Store - the largest old fashioned general store in Ontario.
Our Haliburton resort is a short drive to Minden White Water Preserve where exciting kayaking competitions take place. Sir Sams Ski area, Algonquin Park, Leslie Frost Centre are all close and provide year round activities including cross country skiing, down hill skiing, hiking, biking. snowmobiling, atving, canoeing and fishing.
In September Haliburton Highland's artisans come together to display their wares in the Studio Tour - although most of the art studios are open all year round.
Best of all is the opportunity to kick back on our beach or on the deck of your cottage and soak in the atmosphere of a special Ontario resort on Boshkung lake but also directly beside the renowned Buttermilk Falls - watch the loons and herons fishing - keep an eye on the kids fishing with nets in the shallow water by the beach for minnows or making sand castles on our shallow beach area.
Our rental cottages are immaculately maintained and all come fully equipped with a full size fridge and stove, microwave,coffee maker toaster etc. TVs with VCR's are in each cottage and there is a gas BBQ on each deck.
Buttermilk Falls Resort can arrange for a variety of services for you including gourmet meals delivered to your door.
Within a five minute drive there are a selection of excellent restaurants and a little store close by makes great pizza.
We have partnered with Santa's Village in Bracebridge to offer you and your family discounted day passes to their park. A great way to have Christmas in Summer!
